Alpha Company regroups with fresh troops back at Dong Tam following the hellacious June 19th Battle.

June, 1967 - Note the dredge and pipeline that was used extensively to build up the ground upon which Dong Tam was built.  Many a 4th/47th trooper walked that pipeline at night to discourage enemy activity. However, months after this photo was taken, the V.C. managed to sink the dredge - the Navy promptly recovered it and placed it back in service. 

Specialist 4th Class Jim Henke made it safely home to his mighty fine '55 Chevy Hot Rod.
